Circle of Fifths; Major Keys

The Circle of Fifths is the most compact way of representing a number of relationships in music. On this page the 12 points around the outside of the circle are the major key names, and the numbers inside the circle show the number of sharp or flat notes in its keysignature and scale. Note that only one enharmonic (F# = Gb) is used for major key names.

Some further points to note:
The keys on the right side are called the "sharp keys", the keys on the left side are called the "flat keys".
